!±8± The Pregnancy Process - How Do You Get Pregnant?

Understanding the pregnancy process and how do you get pregnant is crucial to being able to conceive. It is important to understand how the entire biological cycle works and just what happens for you to be able to make sense of your body and optimize your chances of getting pregnant.

If you want to know how do you get pregnant, the first step in the process is that of conception. During the course of sexual intercourse when the man ejaculates inside the woman's vagina as many as a million sperm cells can be released via the fluid called semen. While the biological system of men involves creating sperm cells on a daily basis, in the women the ovaries produce the egg one time a month. This egg traces a path down the fallopian tube and reaches the uterus. Upon ejaculation when the sperm are released into the body they pass through the cervix and the uterus and the fallopian tubes and hit upon the egg. In the cases that the egg and sperm fuse together fertilization occurs and conception is completed.

The next part of understanding how do you get pregnant is the one where the fertilized egg begins to place itself along the uterine wall. During the monthly cycle the woman's body experiences a thickening of the uterine wall in preparation for the release of the ovum from the ovaries. The onset of the menstrual cycle occurs when there has been no fertilization and conception. The wall crumbles down and passes through the vagina as blood and clotting and this is known as the menstruation period. In cases of the conception, the fertilized egg becomes latched to the thickened walls of the uterus. Post this occurrence the cells start multiplying and transform into an embryo. With the passage of time the embryo turns into a fetus which is connected to the uterus through the placenta that acts as a nurturing layer for the embryo and provides it all the nourishment, food and care that it needs.

As the pregnancy advances the body experiences a number of transformations in order to prepare for the demands and needs of the fetus. Women begin to put weight on in order to be able to support the growing child. The breasts begin to grow in size as the mammary glands increase to produce the milk that the baby will need after delivery. The pregnancy lasts for 9 months.

Once you have understood how do you get pregnant you can concentrate your efforts on conceiving if you have decided to have a child. It has been seen that for maximum chances of conceiving it is best to have sex a few days before your ovulation cycle is due because the walls of the uterus become ready to carry a fertilized egg and prepare for a possible pregnancy. If you have sex in the days building up to the ovulation cycle you increase your chances of conceiving, as it is most likely at this time that the sperm will join with the ovum being released.
